Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 132 runs across two innings in East Zone's Duleep Trophy semifinal against Central Zone. The standout feature of his performance was his battle with Punjab Kings fast bowler Yash Thakur.

The 15-year-old faced Thakur in both innings and showed no discomfort against the pace attack despite the bowler's reputation. Sooryavanshi's eventual dismissal came via a stunning catch by Rajat Patidar.

East Zone won the match by four wickets to reach the final after 13 years. Sooryavanshi's 92 in the first innings broke the record for the youngest half-centurion in Duleep Trophy history.

CricHubb Take

Sooryavanshi's comfort against established IPL pace bowlers suggests his technique may translate more readily to senior cricket than age-based concerns typically allow.
