57 years. Sooryavanshi breaks Duleep Trophy fifty record at 15

Sooryavanshi fell eight runs short of Sachin Tendulkar's record as the youngest Duleep Trophy centurion.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi walked out at 15 years and 157 days and left with 92. That knocks down a mark that had stood since Laxman Singh scored a fifty for Central Zone in January 1969. The knock came against the same Central Zone attack in the Duleep Trophy semi-final in Bengaluru, and it carried East Zone to a four-wicket win and a place in the final.

Mohammed Shami and Mukesh Kumar shared seven wickets as Central Zone folded for 158. Ishan Kishan finished the chase unbeaten on 39.
