Abishek Porel and Sudip Gharami scored unbeaten centuries as Bengal took a 64-run lead over Delhi on day two of their Ranji Trophy match.
Abishek Porel and Sudip Gharami scored unbeaten centuries to give Bengal a 64-run first-innings lead over Delhi on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group C match in Kalyani on Monday. Porel remained not out on 114 from 161 balls, while Gharami was unbeaten on 122 from 221 deliveries. The pair added 199 runs for the fourth wicket as Bengal reached 304 for three at stumps.
Porel, who had not played competitive cricket since the 2026 IPL and was arrested on rape charges in August before being granted bail, reached his century in 137 balls. He had two reprieves during his innings. Gharami scored his 10th first-class hundred and his third consecutive century at the venue. Delhi were dismissed for 240 in their first innings on day one.
Porel broke down in tears after reaching the landmark. He had faced 14 deliveries for one run at lunch before accelerating after the interval. He said Gharami's encouragement helped him stay patient during the partnership.
