Adam Zampa says overseas players still favoured in new BBL system

Adam Zampa claims the BBL overhaul still benefits overseas players after joining Hobart Hurricanes on a two-year deal.

Australia leg-spinner Adam Zampa says the BBL's new contracting system still favours overseas players despite the draft being scrapped. Zampa signed a two-year deal with Hobart Hurricanes, his fifth BBL club.

He cited familiar faces and the team's bowling resources as key factors in his decision. The new system was intended to give clubs greater salary-cap freedom and improve opportunities for local players.

Hobart finished last in the previous season. Zampa will play for a record-equalling fifth club in BBL 16.
