Adrian Birrell appointed Sharjah Warriorz head coach

Adrian Birrell has been appointed head coach of Sharjah Warriorz ahead of the upcoming ILT20 season. The 65-year-old led Sunrisers Eastern Cape to three SA20 titles during his tenure with the franchise. Birrell replaces the previous coaching staff at Sharjah Warriorz.

Birrell has extensive experience in T20 franchise cricket across multiple leagues. He guided Sunrisers Eastern Cape to consecutive SA20 titles in the competition's first three seasons. The South African coach has worked with several international players during his time in the SA20.

The ILT20 season is scheduled to begin in January 2027. Sharjah Warriorz finished in the middle of the table in the previous edition of the tournament.
