Andre Russell leaves field with injury during CPL Eliminator

Andre Russell suffered an injury during the Caribbean Premier League Eliminator against Barbados Tridents at Kensington Oval. The Jamaica Kingsmen all-rounder clutched his back after bowling the fourth delivery of the 18th over and limped through the next ball before leaving the field.

Russell had taken two wickets in the powerplay, dismissing Kevlon Anderson and Zachary Carter. Rovman Powell completed the final delivery of the over as Russell received treatment from the physio. Barbados Tridents finished at 144 for six.

Jamaica Kingsmen chased the target in 14.1 overs to reach Qualifier 2. Russell had missed three matches earlier in the season due to injury and returned on September 12 before this latest setback.
