BCCI plans long-term development for Sooryavanshi

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia outlined a careful development strategy for 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, emphasising the board's commitment to nurturing his talent beyond early success. The board wants the youngster to build a career like Sachin Tendulkar.

Sooryavanshi has already made headlines by breaking into international cricket at 15 after explosive IPL performances. The BCCI is tracking his development to ensure he avoids being labelled a one-year wonder.

The board's long-term approach was discussed during its high-level review meeting in Mumbai on Thursday. The BCCI is mentoring a broader pool of young players at the Centre of Excellence alongside Sooryavanshi's development.
