Breetzke and Maharaj lead South Africa to 67-run win over Australia

Matthew Breetzke's 112 and Keshav Maharaj's four for 20 helped South Africa beat Australia by 67 runs in the first ODI at Durban.

Matthew Breetzke made 112 and Keshav Maharaj took four for 20 as South Africa beat Australia by 67 runs in the first ODI at Durban. They posted 297 for eight after Breetzke and Marco Jansen added crucial middle-order runs, Jansen finishing with 75. Maharaj and Bjorn Fortuin bowled Australia out for 230 in 41.2 overs on a slow surface.

Mitchell Marsh made 60 off 36 and Travis Head 90 off 56, but the rest collapsed once the openers were gone. Jansen took four catches and one wicket — only the fifth player to reach those numbers in an ODI. South Africa lead the series 1-0.

They're missing four frontline fast bowlers for the series with hamstring injuries. The next two games are on Sunday and Wednesday.
