Derbyshire Police investigate assault allegations after Brydon Carse nightclub incident

Derbyshire Police are investigating allegations of assault following an incident that saw England bowler Brydon Carse handcuffed outside a nightspot in Derby over the weekend. The Cricket Regulator has also opened an investigation into the matter.

England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been withdrawn from the squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's from Thursday. Carse was named in the original squad for the Lord's Test.

The incident remains under active investigation by both police and cricket authorities. His withdrawal leaves England with one fewer bowling option for the match.
