India to host inaugural Women's Champions Trophy in February 2027

India will host the inaugural Women's Champions Trophy after the ICC removed Sri Lanka as hosts over governance concerns. The six-team T20I tournament runs from 14 to 28 February 2027 at venues in Mumbai and Vadodara. The ICC Board ratified India as replacement host on 1 September.

Sri Lanka will still compete in the tournament despite losing the hosting rights. India enter as Women's Cricket World Cup holders while Australia arrive as Women's T20 World Cup champions. England, New Zealand and South Africa complete the field of six teams.

Pakistan will not participate in the inaugural edition under the current qualification criteria. The tournament represents a significant addition to the women's international calendar.
