Jemimah Rodrigues ruled out of Asia Cup and Asian Games with hamstring tear
Rodrigues sustained the injury on August 3 and will miss both the Asia Cup starting later this month and the Asian Games in September.
Jemimah Rodrigues won't play the Women's Asia Cup or the Asian Games. The injury came on August 3 while she was batting for Southern Brave in The Hundred, and scans later confirmed a high-grade right hamstring tear.
BCCI announced the news on Friday after Rodrigues had been examined at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Pratika Rawal steps into the Asia Cup squad. She has one Test and 27 ODIs but has yet to play a T20I.
India open the Asia Cup in the UAE on August 28 against Thailand, then face Hong Kong and Pakistan. The Asian Games T20 tournament runs from September 17 to October 3 in Japan.
