Joe Root expressed frustration after Brydon Carse was dropped for Lord's Test

Derbyshire Police are investigating allegations of assault connected to Brydon Carse's nightclub incident in Derby. Carse was filmed in handcuffs outside Molly Malone's Irish Tavern in the early hours of Sunday morning. He was initially arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly before being de-arrested.

England removed Carse from their squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's. The England Cricket Regulator has launched a separate investigation into the incident. It is not yet clear what role Carse played in the alleged assault.

Joe Root spoke angrily about the latest in a series of alcohol-related incidents involving England players. The incident occurred while Carse was not in the playing XI for the opening Test against Pakistan in Leeds.
