Jos Buttler undergoes hamstring surgery, targets SA20 return

Jos Buttler had surgery on his left hamstring on October 12, 2026. Surgeons completed the procedure successfully, and the batter began rehabilitation immediately.

Buttler said recovery is expected to take at least twelve weeks, ruling him out of England's January 2027 ODI series in South Africa. He plans to return during the SA20 competition later that month.

Gujarat Titans are expected to retain the England wicketkeeper-batter for the 2027 IPL season. His central contract with the England and Wales Cricket Board runs until September 30, 2027.
