Morkel says Nitish Reddy can compete for all-rounder spot

India bowling coach Morne Morkel said Nitish Kumar Reddy can compete for the all-rounder spot if given consistent opportunities and a clear role. Reddy has played six ODIs and was withdrawn from the Asian Games squad to play in the West Indies series.

Morkel said Reddy showed impressive bowling in different situations during the T20Is against Afghanistan. He said the message to Reddy is to keep things simple and do the basics consistently. Morkel added that India need to manage Reddy well and give him a clear role.

Reddy was pulled out of the Asian Games to gain more game time in ODIs against West Indies starting on Sunday.
