Prithvi Shaw seeks comeback after engagement split
Prithvi Shaw, once compared to Sachin Tendulkar after a Test century on debut, seeks a comeback through domestic cricket and the IPL after his engagement ended.
Prithvi Shaw looked set for a long run in Indian colours. He captained India to the Under-19 World Cup and scored a Test hundred on debut, the kind of start that had people reaching for Tendulkar comparisons.
That was 2021. He hasn't played for India since. Now he's moved to Maharashtra for the 2025-26 Ranji season, hoping a strong domestic stretch and some IPL runs will reopen the door.
The latest twist came off the field. Shaw's engagement to Akriti Agarwal ended, another headline in a career that has drifted from its early promise. Domestic cricket and the IPL are the only routes left if he wants to wear India blue again.
