Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals linked with Hardik Pandya trade

Trade speculation around Hardik Pandya intensified with Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals reportedly offering players to Mumbai Indians before the 17 November retention deadline.

Punjab Kings are reported to be willing to offer Arshdeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod in exchange for Hardik Pandya from Mumbai Indians. Rajasthan Royals have also been linked with a bid that would send Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravi Bishnoi to Mumbai. Mumbai are understood to prefer a frontline fast bowler in any deal.

The retention deadline for IPL 2027 is 17 November. Rohit Sharma has reportedly agreed to return as Mumbai captain if Pandya departs, though he also suggested Tilak Varma as a possible successor. Ambati Rayudu said Pandya felt cornered while captaining Mumbai and should not captain immediately after any move.

Rayudu added that Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings would suit Pandya without captaincy duties, while Kolkata Knight Riders would present greater challenges. An official announcement is expected within 48 hours.
