Rachin Ravindra doubtful for India T20Is after shoulder injury

Rachin Ravindra suffered a shoulder dislocation during a promotional shoot, leaving his availability for the India T20I series uncertain.

New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra dislocated his right shoulder during a promotional shoot in Auckland and is now in doubt for the five-match T20I series against India. NZC confirmed the injury on Saturday, September 20, after initial medical assessments cleared major structural damage. Ravindra's return-to-play timeline will depend on his early rehabilitation progress.

Performance manager Mike Sandle described the incident as a "freak accident" and said the team would review safety protocols for commercial shoots. Head coach Rob Walter added that Ravindra's long-term fitness takes priority given the packed Test schedule over the next six months.

New Zealand will announce their squad for the series, which begins on October 22, early next week. Ravindra has played 52 T20Is, scoring 759 runs and taking 26 wickets.
