Pakistan add Wasim Jr after Mirza ruled out
Wasim Jr replaces injured Mirza in Pakistan's Asian Games squad.
The Pakistan Cricket Board replaced left-arm pacer Salman Mirza with Mohammad Wasim Jr after Mirza suffered a fractured left thumb. Mirza is undergoing rehabilitation and is expected to regain full fitness by early October.
Sahibzada Farhan will lead the side, with Abdul Samad as vice-captain. The squad assembled in Karachi on Sunday and will train until Thursday before flying to Japan. Five players, including Usman Khan, Saim Ayub, Maaz Sadaqat, Hasan Nawaz and Sufyan Moqim, will join the camp after the CPL final. Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah were not selected.
The men's cricket competition begins on Monday, September 28. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh enter the quarter-finals directly, and the two sides can meet only in the bronze or gold medal match.
