Jayasuriya urges India to play Sooryavanshi more
Jayasuriya says Sooryavanshi needs regular games to fulfil his potential.
Former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya has called on India to give Vaibhav Sooryavanshi regular opportunities. The 15-year-old has not played since his debut series against England in June.
Jayasuriya told PTI that Sooryavanshi is India's future and will deliver when given space and time. Head coach Gautam Gambhir has kept the teenager on the bench for the recent T20I series against Afghanistan.
Sooryavanshi will travel to Japan with the T20I side for the Asian Games. At 15 years and 157 days, he became the youngest player to score a half-century in the Duleep Trophy earlier this month.
