Shubman Gill says India gained positives despite drawn Colombo Test

India captain Shubman Gill said there were lots of positives to take from their 1-0 series win in Sri Lanka despite the drawn second Test in Colombo. Gill put a positive spin on the result but acknowledged the squad returned home disappointed after letting the hosts off the hook. India won the first Test in Galle by 165 runs.

Gill's captaincy came under scrutiny after India failed to press home their advantage in the second Test. Former players questioned the team's approach and squad selection during the drawn match. Gill's muscle spasm earlier in the tour had forced adjustments to India's playing plans.

India's WTC qualification now hinges on winning all remaining matches to reach a 70.37 percent points percentage. Six wins would leave the percentage at 65 percent while losing two matches would drop it to 59.26 percent. India currently ranks fifth in the World Test Championship standings.
