Sudip Gharami and Shahbaz Ahmed score centuries for East Zone

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi picked up two wickets in four balls for East Zone against North East Zone in the Duleep Trophy quarter-final on Tuesday. The 15-year-old finished with figures of 2 for 11 from three overs in the second innings. Sooryavanshi had earlier scored eight runs from six balls in his first innings.

Former Australia captain Steve Waugh has backed Sooryavanshi to represent India in Test cricket. Sooryavanshi has not featured for India U-19 since the final of the U-19 World Cup in February and was not part of its tour to Sri Lanka in June.

Rahul Dravid has called for patience with Sooryavanshi's development. The teenager continues to attract attention for his all-round abilities in domestic cricket.
