Suryakumar Yadav admits he did not put enough effort into ODI cricket

Suryakumar Yadav said he takes the blame for not succeeding in the 50-over format. The Mumbai Indians batter admitted he did not put in the required effort to master ODI cricket and that the gap remains a regret. He said the longer format proved more complex than T20 cricket and that he struggled to learn how to construct an innings. Yadav added that he had been planning for the next two years when the BCCI informed him it was time to move on from the T20I captaincy. He said being removed as captain came as a shock. Sanju Samson told him to prepare as if he were still part of the squad, a response that gave the team confidence during the T20 World Cup.
