Suryakumar Yadav reveals what Ajit Agarkar-led panel told him before T20I sacking
Suryakumar Yadav said selectors told him it was time to move on before removing him as T20I captain after the World Cup win.
Suryakumar Yadav recalled the conversation he had with Sanju Samson when the wicketkeeper-batter was left out of the side. Yadav has broken his silence on getting dropped from the India squad after winning the T20 World Cup earlier this year. He expressed surprise at losing his T20 captaincy role after leading India to T20 World Cup and Asia Cup victories.
Yadav said the selectors informed him it was time for the team to move forward. He accepted the decision, acknowledging the selectors' prerogative. Suryakumar remains available for selection whenever the selectors deem it appropriate. He was under the impression he would continue leading India in T20Is for another two years.
Yadav contemplated quitting cricket before his wife helped him rediscover his passion for the game. He was in complete shock after being dropped despite leading India to T20 World Cup glory.
