Swastik Chikara and Zeeshan Ansari keep Meerut Mavericks in title hunt

Swastik Chikara sits on top of the UPT20 run charts with 1,600 runs. Zeeshan Ansari’s leg-spin has done the rest, and together they’ve steered Meerut Mavericks to eight wins from ten.

Ansari spent nearly five years out of first-class cricket before he got a second shot. Time at Sunrisers Hyderabad under Muttiah Muralitharan and Daniel Vettori sharpened the variations, and he was back in the India A squad earlier this season.

Meerut sit second on the table with two matches left. The final is next week in Lucknow.
