Zeeshan Ansari credits Muralitharan and Vettori for leg-spin resurgence

Zeeshan Ansari worked with Muttiah Muralitharan and Daniel Vettori last season at Sunrisers Hyderabad. The lessons stayed with him when he returned to red-ball cricket after nearly five years away.

Ansari hadn't played first-class since 2021. A strong run in the UP T20 league got him back in, and he now finds himself in India A's setup. He says the IPL and India A exposure helped him understand his own craft better.

The 28-year-old made his first-class comeback for Uttar Pradesh in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season.
