Sadagoppan Ramesh questions fitness standards for Bumrah and Rana

Former India batter Sadagoppan Ramesh criticised the selection panel for applying inconsistent fitness rules to Jasprit Bumrah and Harshit Rana ahead of the Afghanistan T20I series. Ramesh told Indian Express that selectors appeared to excuse certain players while demanding stricter compliance from others.

Washington Sundar has been declared fit for the series. Bumrah's medical report remains due on September 9, and selectors are still awaiting clearance on Rana.

India face Afghanistan in three T20Is before travelling to New Zealand for two Tests. The former India captain has said Bumrah needs competitive cricket before the New Zealand series.
