Wasim Akram questions PSL's failure to produce batters
Wasim Akram cited Vaibhav Sooryavanshi while questioning why the PSL has not produced a standout batter in ten years.
Wasim Akram asked why the Pakistan Super League has failed to produce a batter of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's calibre in its ten-year history. The former Pakistan captain used the 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals left-hander as an example while discussing domestic talent development.
Akram noted that the PSL has developed several fast bowlers who reached the national side but has struggled with top-order batters. He said Pakistan needs to identify and nurture talent at a younger age.
Sooryavanshi has already scored a century in his IPL debut season and has been named in India's squad for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan.
