Wasim Jaffer questions India's decision to omit Rinku Singh

Wasim Jaffer said Rinku Singh could have changed the outcome of the fourth T20I against West Indies.

Wasim Jaffer said Rinku Singh's exclusion has cost India in the T20I series against the West Indies. The former batter argued that the left-hander could have altered the result in the fourth match, which India lost by 24 runs while trying to reach 248.

Jaffer stated that Rinku is far better than others when he bats at numbers five and six, and called it unfortunate that he is not in the side simply because he does not bowl. In 22 innings at those positions, Rinku has made 518 runs at an average of 43.15 and a strike rate of 156.

Jaffer also warned that expecting Naman Dhir to complete four overs as an off-spinner is too ambitious, especially after the powerplay on Indian pitches. The series now stands at 2-2 ahead of the final match in Bengaluru.
