Pragyan Ojha acted as troubleshooter between Gambhir and Kohli
Pragyan Ojha reportedly acted as a troubleshooter to resolve a communication gap between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli before his promotion to chief selector.
Pragyan Ojha had already been smoothing things over between head coach Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli before the BCCI named him chief selector. The former spinner spoke directly to Kohli about the gap during India's tour of England, according to Hindustan Times.
Former chief selector Ajit Agarkar also used Ojha as a go-between, asking him to tell Rohit Sharma he was out of the ODI side after that same England tour. Ojha moved up to the top selector job on seniority once Ramesh Powar took over the West Zone seat from Agarkar.
He shares a long professional link with VVS Laxman, who now runs the BCCI's Centre of Excellence, and played 22 Tests alongside Kohli across his own 24-Test career.
