Kris Srikkanth questioned the selection of Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy for India’s T20I series against Afghanistan.

Former India captain Kris Srikkanth questioned the selection of Washington Sundar for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan, saying there was no clear reason for his inclusion. Sundar has not played a T20I since recovering from a back injury.

Srikkanth also raised concerns about Nitish Kumar Reddy’s place in the squad. Both players are set to undergo fitness tests before the series begins on September 13.

Selectors have indicated that match simulation results will determine final availability. Sundar has not featured in India’s T20I side since the 2024 tour of Zimbabwe.
