Ashish Nehra contrasts Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya captaincy styles

Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra described Shubman Gill as reserved and Hardik Pandya as outgoing in their approaches as captains. Pandya talks constantly and keeps the dressing room loose while Gill stays quiet and watches more than he speaks. Nehra said both men learned fast in their own way.

Gill took the job after Pandya left following the 2025 season. Last year he steered GT to the final, keeping the run Pandya and Nehra started with the 2022 title and the 2023 final. Nehra added that it is too soon to know whether Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will make the 2027 World Cup.
