Ashish Nehra open to India head coach role

Ashish Nehra has said he would consider applying for the India head coach position in the future but joked that his wife would need to approve the extensive travel involved. The Gujarat Titans coach made the comments at a Kolkata event.

Nehra currently leads the Titans in the IPL and has previously worked with the national team in a support role. He indicated the demands of international coaching remain a personal consideration.

The BCCI is not expected to appoint a new head coach imminently. Nehra's remarks add his name to the list of potential candidates when the position next becomes vacant.
