Ishan Kishan suffers back injury scare before Afghanistan T20I

Ishan Kishan sustained a back injury in nets while facing a bouncer from Navdeep Saini ahead of Sunday's first T20I against Afghanistan.

Ishan Kishan hurt his back during a net session in New Delhi two days before India's first T20I against Afghanistan. The wicketkeeper-batter was struck while ducking a short ball from net bowler Navdeep Saini.

Navdeep Saini later said Kishan was fine and there was nothing to worry about. Captain Shreyas Iyer faces a selection decision on the top order with the series opener at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.

Kishan's availability remains under assessment. India open their three-match T20I series against Afghanistan on Sunday before the Asian Games in September.
