Vaibhav Sooryavanshi captains East Zone at 15 in Duleep Trophy semi-final

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi captained East Zone in the Duleep Trophy semifinal against Central Zone at 15 years old after Ishan Kishan suffered a finger injury. The Rajasthan Royals batter was named vice-captain before the match.

Sooryavanshi took over the leadership role on day one after Kishan left the field. East Zone bowled Central Zone out for 266 before batting on day two.

The 15-year-old also scored 92 in East Zone's first innings, becoming the youngest half-centurion in Duleep Trophy history before being dismissed eight runs short of a century.
