Waqar Younis backs Bumrah for New Zealand Test series

Waqar Younis praised Jasprit Bumrah's dominance in white-ball cricket and expects the India pace bowler to return for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand. Bumrah has taken 234 wickets in 52 Tests despite limited appearances due to injuries.

Younis noted that Bumrah's workload management has been handled carefully by the Indian team management. The fast bowler missed the recent home series against England after a back injury flared up during the IPL.

India's next Test assignment is a two-match series in New Zealand beginning in February 2027. Selection for that tour will be finalised after the Champions Trophy in early 2027.
