Wasim Jaffer says Mohammed Shami's absence from T20I squad hurts

Wasim Jaffer expressed concern over Mohammed Shami's absence from India's T20I squad for the Afghanistan series. The former India batter said it hurts that players of Shami's calibre are not in the team.

Shami has been performing well in domestic cricket including the Duleep Trophy where he helped East Zone win the title. Sourav Ganguly said the pacer has not been neglected by selectors.

Shami last played for India during the 2025 Champions Trophy. His red-ball form has raised questions about whether he should be considered for white-ball recalls.
