Naman Dhir says playing in the IPL prepares players for international cricket
Naman Dhir said the IPL prepares players for international cricket after taking 3 for 31 on T20I debut against West Indies.
Naman Dhir said playing in the IPL prepares cricketers for international cricket because of the high level of competition. The Mumbai Indians all-rounder made his T20I debut against West Indies in Lucknow on Tuesday and took 3 for 31. He said he did not feel much pressure because he had already faced top players in the IPL.
Dhir bowls mostly as an Impact Sub in the IPL but continues to practise his off-spin. He watched Axar Patel bowl in the powerplay and noticed the ball gripping when bowled slowly, then applied the same approach. He has played 37 IPL matches for Mumbai Indians and scored 710 runs at a strike rate of 163.97.
Dhir also made his ODI debut against West Indies in September, scoring 30 runs and taking one wicket across three matches.
