Subhadeep Ghosh appointed India men's fielding coach

Subhadeep Ghosh has been named India's new fielding coach, replacing T Dilip whose contract ended after the England tour. Ghosh, a former Assam domestic player, will take charge ahead of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka.

Dilip came under scrutiny during the England tour as India's fielding and catching fell below expected standards. Ghosh's first assignment will be the Test series starting in Galle on August 15.

The appointment forms part of wider changes to the support staff under head coach Gautam Gambhir. Ghosh previously worked with the India A and India Under-19 teams.
