West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has criticised head coach Daren Sammy for saying he declined selection for the ongoing Test series against Pakistan. Joseph said his body was not ready for Test cricket after returning from a year-long injury layoff caused by a recurrent lower-back stress fracture.

Joseph said the statement from Cricket West Indies cited personal reasons but Sammy's public comments created a narrative without proper context. He explained that playing two Tests plus five back-to-back ODIs would have been too much for his body.

Bas de Leede has been appointed the new captain of the Netherlands cricket team ahead of their CWC League 2 matches. Scott Edwards stepped down after leading the side for four years across 56 ODIs. The change was confirmed on Sunday.

Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy has been banned from all forms of cricket for eight years by an ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal. The tribunal found him guilty of match-fixing, soliciting fixes, and obstructing an investigation during the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament in 2025. The sanction was handed down on Sunday.

Reddy, a USA cricketer, faced charges related to his conduct in the T10 event. The violations included attempts to influence match outcomes and interference with the inquiry process. The eight-year ban is the full period requested by the anti-corruption unit.

The decision closes the case for the player. No appeal details were immediately available from the tribunal ruling. Reddy will remain ineligible until 2034.
