Shreyas Iyer says expectations create good pressure for India at Asian Games

India captain Shreyas Iyer said the team faces expectations to finish at the top when representing India, describing it as good pressure that motivates delivery. He emphasised that the side should not think too much about outcomes while maintaining the standard set in previous matches.

Iyer acknowledged that rain has disrupted preparations, with continuous downpours affecting practice sessions in Nisshin. He said the team has decided to treat such hurdles as professionals and focus on adapting to conditions rather than using weather as an excuse.

India were due to face Afghanistan in their quarterfinal on Monday but the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled. The team advanced to the semifinals on the basis of their higher ICC T20I ranking.
