Shreyas Iyer says India looking forward to historic match against Japan

India captain Shreyas Iyer said the team is looking forward to the historic one-off T20I against Japan in Sano on Tuesday. The match celebrates 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries and serves as preparation for the Asian Games.

Iyer praised Japan's hospitality and said the players are excited to embrace a new culture. He said he saw some video reels of Japanese players but the team would do more preparation before the game.

The match is the first step of the Sport 75 initiative that stems from an agreement between Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both teams will head to Nagoya for the Asian Games after the fixture.
