Devdutt Padikkal’s form leaves Sai Sudharsan out of India Test XI

Devdutt Padikkal scored back-to-back centuries in Sri Lanka and locked in the number-three slot for now. Aakash Chopra says those runs have effectively shut Sai Sudharsan out of the position.

Sudharsan missed the series with injury, so Padikkal got the extended run. India declared at 503 for nine in the second Test, Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel both reaching three figures.

Sudharsan stays in the squad but waits for a spot higher up. The next selection meeting will decide if he gets another crack at three or moves elsewhere.
