Rishabh Pant named Rest of India captain for Irani Cup

Rishabh Pant will captain Rest of India against Jammu and Kashmir at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar from October 1 to 5. Sarfaraz Khan is his vice-captain.

Pant missed selection for India's 15-man ODI squad for the three-match series against the West Indies. Jammu and Kashmir earned their spot after winning their first Ranji Trophy title in the 2025-26 season.

Leading run-scorers R Smaran and Ayush Doseja, who finished the season with 950 and 949 runs, both make the squad. Akash Deep returns subject to fitness after a lower-back stress injury kept him out of the entire IPL 2026.
