Bhuvneshwar Kumar says he is not thinking about ODI return
Bhuvneshwar Kumar says he will focus on domestic cricket rather than chase an ODI recall after his T20I return.
India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar said he is not thinking too far ahead in his international career when asked about a possible return to ODIs. The 36-year-old returned to the national team after a four-year absence for the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand.
"It is great to be playing for India again, but I am not thinking too much about the future. I will continue to play domestic cricket, whether it is Mushtaq Ali or Vijay Hazare," he said after the third T20I in Wellington. He has taken one wicket and conceded 139 runs in three matches so far.
Bhuvneshwar credited his IPL performances with Royal Challengers Bengaluru for creating the conditions for his comeback. He said good bowlers can still control T20 matches despite conditions favouring batters.
"I still believe that a bowler can control the game. The reason is that we feed the ball to the batter," he added.
