Dinesh Karthik says Bhuvneshwar Kumar may have been nervous on return

Dinesh Karthik said Bhuvneshwar Kumar's two no-balls reflected nerves on his international return after four years.

RCB batting coach Dinesh Karthik said Bhuvneshwar Kumar may have been nervous during his first international match in four years. Bhuvneshwar conceded 49 runs in four overs without taking a wicket and bowled two no-balls in India's four-wicket win over New Zealand.

Karthik noted that the no-balls came in the second and third overs and said two no-balls in a game are unheard of for the seamer. He added that Bhuvneshwar's first and last overs were good and urged fans to give the bowler time after such a long absence.

Bhuvneshwar last played for India in 2022. Karthik also suggested the team could use Bhuvneshwar at No. 8 to allow an extra spinner in the XI.
