Afghanistan seek schedule change for India T20Is to include Ganesh Chaturthi fixture

ACB proposes moving one India T20I to Ganesh Chaturthi to boost attendance and cultural engagement.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board is mulling changing the schedule of the upcoming three T20Is against India to include a match on September 14, the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The three T20Is are currently scheduled for September 13, 15 and 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Sources said the ACB wants one T20I to be played on September 14, which could add a distinctive cultural dimension to the series. The ACB has begun discussions with broadcasters including Sony Sports and Star Sports for television broadcast rights. FanCode is expected to stream the matches digitally. The series is part of Afghanistan's designated home fixtures under the ICC's Future Tours Programme despite all three matches being played in India.
